qBraid x HUQCA Research Mentorships Program (qRaMP)

In partnership with qBraid, we are very excited to launch the qBraid x HUQCA Research Mentorships Program (qRaMP)! qBraid is a cloud-based platform that provides users access to quantum computing hardware from QuEra, IonQ, OQC, IQM, IBM, and other providers.

We’re always hearing from our eager new members looking for hands-on research projects to start learning about quantum computing. When qBraid reached out to partner with our organization to get feedback on their platform from students working on projects and research, we began a collaboration to design a research program to give those students an exclusive opportunity to work on projects with free access to compute and mentorship from quantum research scientists active in the industry.

qRaMP Launch + Project Pitch on September 30th, 2024

With the generous support of our partner qBraid, we launched qRaMP on September 30th, 2024, and we’re looking forward to seeing the wonderful projects our participants work on!

qRAMP in Numbers

We have 48 students from all four class years and a wide range of backgrounds, from first-years for whom this is their first exposure to quantum computing to upperclassmen with published research in the space, participating in our research program! Every participant has been grouped into one of 13 teams who will be working on projects in one of the 3 tracks we’re offering this semester: AI/ML, Quantum Algorithms, and Educational Platform Development.

Timeline

September 30th: qBraid x HUQCA Research Mentorships Program launches! Students meet the qBraid mentors, hear their project pitches for each track, and meet their future teammates over pizza…

October 10th: team + track assignments released. The hacking begins!

November 9th: qRaMP Hackathon Night at the newly-opened Goel Quantum Science and Engineering Building
